Gaspard GOBAUT (1814-1882) - Orientalist- " Marabout in the Mitidja" (Alger). Watercolor and plumb-mine. Signed at the right low part of it. Size : 13 x 20 centim.(estimated).
Born in Paris in 1814 he died in 1882. He started as a draughts-man for Army in 1836. Works til 1881. Using mostly watercolor; he painted scenes of Crimée war, of Algeria and Morocco (without ever having visited these countries ...).
